Ordering FAQs

Thank you for taking a moment to familiarize yourself with our Ordering FAQ's. This page was developed from questions our clients have asked of us, and while seemingly rather exhaustive, we hope will answer most questions anyone may have. We want our clients and potential clients to be informed, and understand how we do business. Purchasing tooling from an artisan custom maker is different than what many people are accustomed to from a retailer. We feel this is important information for our customers, and we assume they understand this information before placing orders with us.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every item is artisan made and custom handcrafted to order. They are meticulously made with human hands in Northern California USA. Nothing is in stock, we make each tool specifically for the client who orders it.
Your order placed with us is custom made commissioned work. While we try to be efficient, and work as productively as possible, we are a small, basically one-man shop doing very meticulous work with raw materials, and building high quality, high-accuracy tooling takes time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our tools are made by hand, using a combination of hand and power tools, No CNC, and nothing is farmed out to other shops as piece work. We offer over 50 tools and parts for those tools. Most of our items require lead times to supply. Please remember to consider lead time into your order with us.
We build orders, your purchases, in the order they are received.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are not a retailer of tooling, jigs and fixtures, but rather a designer and custom maker of tooling and woodworking craftsmanship. This will not be like a common retail purchase experience. Most of our offerings are our own designs, and we offer many items you won't find anyplace else.
We are not offering tools we have made up in advance. There isn't any way for us to know what each of our clients will want in advance and we offer many customized options on our product lines.
Much of our tooling offers very high accuracy, and is made to machine tool standards, in both woods and metals. Many of our tools have interchangable parts, and replacements are available. We are constantly planning, ordering, and custom milling materials for the completion of each of our clients orders. Many of our customers order multiple items. We make the tooling you purchase from us as nice as we can possibly make it, just for you. It takes time, hours actually, to make each item. We look for every efficiency and work as quickly as we can.
While it may seem we are constantly working wood, (and we are) we want you to know a bit more about our woodworking business. In addition to operating our shop, we are constantly maintaining it and the tooling we use, as well as handle the other aspects of business such as research and development, purchasing and procurement, inventory management, shipping, bookkeeping, customer service, correspondence, webmastering, writing and teaching. It's a busy place and lifestyle. We love what we do. We also love spending time with our family, and leading a balanced life.
We have a store on the web that is open 24/7 and work more hours than you might expect, we are generally available for consulting and correspondence on business days, from 8-5 Pacific Time, Monday Through Friday. We will occasionally correspond after hours at our discretion. If you don't hear from us during a weekend or holiday, don't worry, and know we will acknowledge you as soon as possible on the next business day.
Thank you for understanding.
Each purchase transaction from Evenfall Studios
requires full payment in advance,
and constitutes a 50% non-refundable deposit on every item we make.
Customarily, contractors and artisans will often require at least 50% or more as down payment for materials and services to begin work for a client. We are not building or remodeling homes, nor building multiple thousand dollar pieces of furniture. We are not a retailer, and we don't work on spec. Due to the affordable nature of our product line, we require full, 100% payment in advance to fund your order, and help keep our prices affordable. Your full payment at the time of purchase helps support artisan craftsmanship in the USA, and assures your place in the queue. Thank you for supporting a U.S. Artisan Craftsman.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
