The Any Angle Fence™
Shoot any angle between 0-90 degrees!
Fits any of our Single Chute, Veritas and 51 Style Shooting Boards!
Our shooting boards have come to be known by woodworkers
as a very accurate tool for truing boards to specifc angles.
But what happens when one needs to fit miters to work that isn't square,
or needs to compensate for factors that cannot be changed?
There are any number of circumstances where one
may need to shoot for excellent fit and finish,
yet do so to compensate for pre existing errors and conditions.
Often, buildings are not built to furniture tolerances,
and time can create need for even more angular tolerance than that.
Built in cabinetry, bookshelves, and moldings often need to compensate for this.
Other times, some types and styles of furniture work call
for angled mortise and tenons, and shooting angles onto the workpiece
is a good way to simplify layout and make the piece fit accurately.
The Any Angle Fence is a perfect match for our
Single Chute Style Shooting Boards, Veritas and 51 Shooters.
It's all about the small details, and there are many:
Our Any Angle Fence is a three piece unit, but only two pieces
are intended to be used at any given time.
It consists of the base, made from our Standard Fence stock,
flattened to 0.001 on it's working side, and radiused so as to
not interfere on the chute side. It mounts to the pivot point.
It can be fixtured and calibrated with Standard Thumbscrews
at any angle points supplied, on any model of our shooting boards.
The base can also be clamped to any required angle
in-between the supplied fixture poiints using an F-style clamp.
Simply clamp the assembly to the workbench.
There are two fence faces. One is 1-inch tall, the other 1-3/4 inches tall.
Both are precision sanded on both sides to 0.001 flatness,
to assure accurate registration with the fence and workpiece.
Held in place with hand pressure,
they are reversable, so orientation is inconsequential.
They do not mount to the base, but rather, they are free to slide
and match the fence angle to zero at the chute at any given angle.
Simply choose the fence face that is the best fit for the workpiece,
place it against the fence base, zero it to the plane iron, and shoot.
Shooting board sold separately.
