Puget Sound Area FCC GMRS Line A Regulations





The FCC General Mobile Radio Service is affected by the rule of Line A. In a nutshell, Line A, in the Continental U.S. and Line C, along the Canadian Border in Alaska are boundary lines established by the Governments of the United States and Canada, for the coordination and use of radio frequencies above 30 Megahertz. The understanding of this rule, it's meaning, definition, and location is particularly important in Northwest Washington State due to the large metropolitan population residing in direct proximity to Line A, as well as the rules ascribed to it by the FCC's various radio services and the difficulty inherent in locating Line A's physical location in this region.

For any of this information to be effective to the user, it is reccomended to become familiar with where Line A is located in Northwest Washington, and how to physically locate it on the ground.
